Cablegate-war against Murdoch and more to come!

21 Dec

Last night Cable’s mouth landed him in hot water, however today, the telegraph’s recordings unleashed another bombshell, Cable’s so called “WAR ON MURDOCH”, in which he stated “

“I am picking my fights, some of which you may have seen, some of which you may haven’t seen.

“And I don’t know if you have been following what has been happening with the Murdoch press, where I have declared war on Mr Murdoch and I think we are going to win.”

Hmm, didn’t he also say he would oppose the raising of tuition fees, so I no longer believe a word he says! However, despite his ’apparent’ bias in terms of his role as Business secretary and not to mention his careless speaking, which would have given me and Ed Miliband cause to sack him, it seems Cable has survived his passe double. Downing St stated he would stay in cabinet,  however this matter and matters relating to Media have been transferred to Jeremy Hunt and the department for culture and Media and Sport. So he survives but much neutered, for now at least, as the telegraph states there is more to be released. Interesting times ahead perhaps….

Again he opens his mouth with such applomb,

Words more destructive than any atom bomb,

Inappropriate, carelessly he whispers,

Yet what is truth what is lies,

Can we believe his forked tongue, slither,

Slithers across the dancefloor yet he survives,

Neutered eunach, yet still he survives , for now!

Cablegate- this time we do mean Vince!

Hmm an interesting development just occured, where Cable was caught a bit with his pants down by a a Daily telegraph recording in which he states “bring the Government down” if he is pushed too far.” The full transcript can be seen here- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/liberaldemocrats/8215501/Vince-Cable-the-full-transcript.html , but to abbrieviate, he goes on to state “Can I be very frank with you, and I am not expecting you to quote this outside. I have a nuclear option, it’s like fighting a war. They know I have nuclear weapons, but I don’t have any conventional weapons. If they push me too far then I can walk out of the government and bring the government down and they know that.”

In response to the report, Mr Cable had to make an embarrasing climbdown, denying he planned to quit. He stated “Naturally, I am embarrassed by these comments and I regret them. I have no intention of leaving the Government,” he continued. “I am proud of what it is achieving and will continue to play my full part in delivering the priorities I and my party believe in, which are enshrined in the coalition agreement.”

Well what does this mean, for starters it yet again shows that Cable is two faced, saying one thing to one person and the complete opposite to other people. He turns more times than Brendan Cole does illegal lifts (sorry for Strictly paralance there). It remains to be seen whether the government will tolerate such a liability and whether the voyage is over for St Vince. Will he be dancing his last waltz? My opinions are no secret, yet watch this space!

Is this the last waltz for Cable?

Is this the last waltz,

We wonder as he slivers about the floor,

Snake, his forked tongue strikes again,

Critical he claims to be the nuclear option,

Yet his mouth a more destructive force,

What is truth what is lies, give us another twirl,

A perfect 10 for duplicity, 10 for stupidity,

Vince forktongue, is this your last waltz?

Vincent Vincent, how far you fall!

30 Nov

After Vince Cable’s utter sacrifice of credibilty after saying he may abstain on voting for the tuition fee rise, wgich he also states he believes in, I believe now it is the time Cable received a poetry salvo! Enjoy your reign while it lasts Vince!

Vincent Vincent, how far you fall,

Once lauded as a saint who filled us with awe,

Now a sinner, a liar, an honourless whore.

Was it worth it,

Exalted position, the riches, the power,

Worth your honour?

Forked tongue, you believe one thing, yet say another?

You delude yourself, we immune from your spell,

You sacrifice our future, you condemn us to hell!

Hope you like it while it lasts,

You drink from a poisoned chalice,

Drink heartily my friend, you may forget,

Yet this betrayal cuts deep, WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

You drink from a poisoned chalice- Drink heartily!

Browne review needs a rethink!

14 Oct

The latest salvo in our war against the unjust fee rises came today on the NUS website: http://www.nus.org.uk/en/News/News/Government-must-rethink-Browne-review-as-poll-shows-opposition-to-tuition-fee-hike/

The site stated that an approval poll for the Coalition government fell from +4 to -7 in just a day in the wake of Lord Browne’s review of fees, with the poll also showing that the public oppose Lord Browne’s recommendations on student fees by 45% to 37%.

“A separate ICM/Sunday Telegraph opinion poll on Sunday showed 61% of voters back a graduate tax while 29% would rather see higher tuition fees”

NUS president and one of my twitter brethren Aaron Porter stated that

“Lord Browne’s dangerous proposals are clearly out of touch with the public mood and would put our future at risk.”

“The Government must now rethink this review to ensure the fair and sustainable funding of students and universities that recognises their central importance to our economy”

Well said Aaron, and I think that the government should listen to the public mood on this issue and rethink this review as the public see this as an unjustice and unwise measure that will leave an entire generation under the yoke of massive debts!

If any of this has prompted you to action, please follow the below link and add your name to an open letter to Vince Cable to get him to reconsider his position! This is a war and we must voice our opposition to this foolhardy measure!

The wind is against you,

A small breeze has turned gale force,

A hurricane of opposition threatens you,

Turn back now captain,

You deny fairness under the guise of progression,

You shackle a whole generation,

A generation wanting to progress suppressed.

You kick the ladder away,

A ladder offering an escape from poverty,

Remember your promise, the ink most certianly does,

She will expose your pledge,

Your betrayal laid bare.

Turn back now captain,

Don’t fight against this tempest!

War against fee hike mach 2!

12 Oct

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who viewed the Open Letter to Nick Clegg and I’d especially like to thank those who retweeted the link and spread the message!

For all those who haven’t seen it, do follow the link below and do take a look, I hope that you spread the message and I hope it may help in the fight against this injustice!

Open letter to Mr Clegg- immoral fee rises!

In the Commons today, Vince Cable ”told MPs that his previous pledge to scrap fees was “no longer feasible” – and that he saw Lord Browne’s proposals to raise fees as “on the right lines”, heralding the lifting of a cap on fees meaning that universities were free to raise fees to at least £7000 or even more.

However Cable was challenged by MP Liz Kendall, who pointed out to the RIGHT HONOURABLE gentleman that he, and along with Nick Clegg and other Lib-dems, signed the NUS pledge on fees and thus his actions today seem to ride roughshod over this pledge.

I have a message for you Cable, a man who abandons his pledge, who abandons his supporters amongst the student community, and a man who abandons his very principles should LOSE the right to be called a RIGHT HONOURABLE gentleman.

This is why I urge everyone who has any sense of justice, especially the Lib-dems who campaigned so vigourously in this area and signed the aforementioned pledge to vote against this monsterous measure!

Blessed are the youths,

Bright future clouded by doubt,

Blessed are those weighed 30 grand down FOR YOU,

Shackled, under debts yoke FOR YOU,

Lied to and betrayed by you, you who appeared to stand for us,

Your signature the prints on the weapon, mark of your dishonour,

Blessed are those wishing to better themselves,

Will you bless them with cold indifference,

The curse of negligence?

Or assistance, a blessing from on high?

Invest in us, your future, Britannia’s future,

Don’t let it pass you by,

Dont’ let this fragile shoot of talent die!

Betrayal and wasting of the future!

Last night, Vince Cable has admitted the government will not make any move towards a graduate tax to fund universities.

Tory and Lib Dem members are to receive an e-mail explaining the decision in a move that will be seen as preparing the ground for a hike in tuition fees.

Lord Browne’s review of fees in England is expected to recommend more than doubling fees to about £7,000 a year.

The business secretary says he is still committed to a “progressive” element within the final fees package.

The Liberal Youth group immediately called on the party’s MPs to reject any fee increase.

The National Union of Students (NUS) says it is an “insult to the intelligence” to try to “re-brand” an increase in fees as “progressive”, with their president Aaron Porter stating such a policy reversal for the Lib-dems would represent “an absolute betrayal of the electorate to abandon one of their most popular flagship policies and to sell students out in the process” adding “there is nothing fair about extending top-up fees further still and doubling tuition debt. It would be an insult to the intelligence of students and their families to attempt to re-brand the regressive and unpopular top-up fee system.”

I, from an underprivilged background, think such a proposal to hike tution fees to £7000 is a travesty to students, who may now fear this as a barrier to them gaining a university education, and a betrayal to students who voted for the Lib-dems on the premise that they would oppose hikes to fees. In my opinion, a graduate tax making the more higher earners contribute would be a fairer option to hikes in the fees, yet preferably, I think the system should stay as it is.

Under no circumstances should a travesty like the hike in fees be allowed, we must oppose this every step of the way!

Betrayal

Another betrayal,

The young attracted by your promises of fairness like moths to a flame,

Opposition to fee rises, you promise to look out for them,

A new messiah, yet you let them down!

Make a stand for what we thought you believe in,

You turn away a future Einstein, a future Hawking,

They have big brains yet not big bank balances.

You deny a ladder to those wishing to better themselves,

You waste the future, energy wasted disappearing to nothing,

You betrayer,

We will oppose you every step of the way,

We will not forgive or forget!
